I’m so glad you’re here! Rosewood is a health and wellness blog that offers nutritious recipes, holistic lifestyle tips, and tidbits from our life as a three person family finding our balance in Maine.



Nice to meet ya! We are Tess, Trevor and baby Juniper. We’re in the process of figuring out this new parenting thing, renovating an 1800’s farmhouse, and learning how to homestead. We love working on our home, exploring Maine’s coast and trails, cooking, and eating.



We believe in real. Real food, real relationships, real work. But we’re real people, too–we make make mistakes, we learn, we adapt. We often change up our diet to better align with our current lifestyle. Sometimes that means going without gluten or eating less meat, sometimes it means extra ice cream. Same goes with our work, exercise routines, and life goals: we’re committed to health and happiness.



I’ve had a zest for food and cooking since I was a little girl, churning out chocolate chip cookies from my Kids Cookbook. As I grew up, I struggled with my sweet tooth and making healthy choices. Playing sports helped me stay on the leaner side for most of my life, but the stress of high school and then college left me larger than I’d ever been before.


After graduating college, I headed to DC for work while Trevor left for Vietnam on a Fulbright. That year alone to focus on myself and my eating habits (and the goal of getting fit for a wedding) was just what I needed.

I kept a food journal, and realized I craved sweets the most when I was stressed. I took up running again and completed a half marathon. I experimented with my diet and learned that a low car, high protein and veggie diet helped me feel and look my best. I went to the amazing Dupont Farmers Market every week, and started buying the highest quality local food I could find.
Realizing my passion for health and wellness, I studied to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach the following year, graduating from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2013. Through the program, I learned that health isn’t just about food or fitness- it’s a balance of work, diet, exercise, spirituality, relationships, creativity, and much more.
These days, I’m a new mom actively working to find my balance again. It’s not an easy journey, but I now have the tools I need to reach my goals, and help others reach theirs too.
